Last Thursday, over 900 people attended TechCrunch’s first meetup and pitch-off in Austin. 30 companies took the stage to pitch to a panel of judges including the likes of Josh Baer of Capital Factory, Jeff Harbach from the Central Texas Angel Network, and Matt Burns from TechCrunch.
We were thrilled to find out that three of the startups pitching that evening were 3 Day Startup alumni companies. Impressively, two of our alumni companies placed first and second. We would like to congratulate First Cut Pro, a video production management platform, for taking the top prize of a Startup Alley table at TC Disrupt SF, as well as Embarkly, the Expedia of pet care, for winning two tickets to Disrupt SF as the runner-up.
The third 3DS alumnus company that pitched was GuavaText, an SMS-based financial management tool for the underserved and underbanked.
