The other day I was working at my treadmill desk (“working at my treadmill desk” is when I answer emails on my phone while taking a walk). And in the midst of some furious thumbing I had a moment.
Last week we held our first 3 Day Startup in the Middle East–where it all began for Western civilization–at the Academic College of Tel Aviv in Tel Aviv, Israel.
This weekend we’ll have our 30th event where it all began for 3 Day Startup at the University of Texas in Austin, TX.
Since its inception, 3 Day Startup has:
- Held 23 events in the North America, South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East
- Served 1300+ students
- Propelled 3DS alumni to start more than 23 companies collectively raising over $6MM, including:
- Sent teams and alumni to over 12 different incubator/accelerator programs including Y Combinator, TechStars, 500 Startups, Capital Factory, DreamIt Ventures, and more.
It’s been one hell of a ride and it feels like it’s just getting started. There are 17 3 Day Startups happening this semester, which is 3 more events than we had over the entirety of last year.
It all began with an idea from Thomas Finsterbush and Joel Hestness and blossomed thanks to great execution by student organizers all over the world. To the armies of students from Austin to Israel: we wouldn’t be rockin’ today without your help. We are honored that you all are part of the family!
